The most colorful ticket: the 1869 Union Republican Party in the 8th ward of San Francisco, combining patriotic red and blue on the front of the ticket listing their candidates for city and county office with a jarring reverse side featuring the number 8 at the center of an intricate green design.  The color of this ticket, in the hand of a voter on Election Day and about to be deposited, was hard to miss.
